Suffering.

Next Saturday, the shortest day of the year, I am going to try and run the 46 mile Mary Townley loop to raise money for Freedom from Torture. The route is rocky, hilly and exposed, and a lot of the run will be in the dark, but it is nothing compared to the suffering that some endure.
From their centre in Manchester, FFT provide counselling, therapy, interpreting, welfare and legal services to help victims of torture that arrive in the UK to rebuild their lives.
All year we have been organising outdoor events and raising money for FFT and other local charities through our ‘get out and give’ group on meetup. We have had some brilliant experiences from hill walks, to evening rides, and trail and ale runs, and have raised over £1800. This seemed a nice way to finish off the year and to try and reach our £2000 target.
If you are able to donate just 10p a mile to help reach our target, you can give through just giving at http://www.justgiving.com/getoutandgive-fft.
Or if you would like to get out on adventures with us you can find out more at http://getoutandgive.org.
